STORYLINE:
A non-broadcast, web based, interactive, addiction-therapy program developed
and administered by the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University in New Haven, CT and funded
by a grant. Users of the app will be exposed to content that is typically included in interventions. The goal is to create
an appealing program is to provide education, modeling, and a personalized approach to engage users
to connect with their individual motivations and experience. The web-based program is distributed to
clinical therapists only.
SEEKING:
[ANNA]
Female identifying, BIPOC, 30- 45 yrs. ANNA has struggled with drug use for several years. Seasoned actor with range and EXCELLENT MEMORIZATION SKILLS for on-camera and voice-over reenactments of real life/situational scenes. She has recently decided to quit using drugs with the goal of improving her life, health and relationships. Her boyfriend, TONY, lives with her in an apartment they rent and still uses drugs, and uses them around her and in the apartment. ANNA sees a COUNSELOR for her drug use, and she has been learning ways to recognize things in her life that have caused her to continue using drugs, and she’s working hard to focus on skills that can help her break patterns and manage her life without using drugs. Shoots 2 to possibly 3 days with up to a 1/2 day of rehearsal in person in New Haven, CT. This role appears in 10 videos totaling 30 minutes of on-camera time and voiceover, total 30 minutes of short, individual lines to be used in the interactive component of the program. [TONY]
Male identifying, BIPOC, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, early 40s. Seasoned actor with range and EXCELLENT MEMORIZATION SKILLS for on-camera and voice-over reenactments of real life/situational scenes. TONY is the antagonist, live-in boyfriend of the lead character, ANNA. He does not “live in reality” all the time and does things to sabotage ANNA’S recovery and attempt at a normal and drug-free life. However, he is semi-likeable with redeeming qualities. Shoots 1 to possibly 2 days with a 1/2 day of rehearsal in person in New Haven, CT. This role appears in 7 videos totaling 20 minutes of on-camera time. BOBBY is the antagonist and bad friend to the lead character, SAM. BOBBY is a kind of a sleazy, slick guy who deals drugs. While he appears to want to help SAM, he actually is a very bad influence on him. Shoots up to 2 days with a 1/2 day rehearsal in person in New Haven, CT. He is tough and direct in the way he communicates with his crew and gets irritated when things get out of hand at his shop. Shoots 1 day with 1 hour of rehearsal via Zoom.
