STORYLINE:
NY State’s, “No Phones In Schools” initiative will be touring schools across NY state for educational events.

[FRANKIE FOCUS]
All genders, all races, age 21-45 yrs. Seeking talent with high-energy and physical stamina to play FRANKIE FOCUS, a mascot performer who will engage with diverse audiences. Mascot, mime, physical theater, improv, dance and/or TYA skills A HUGE PLUS. Seeking talent for in each region (Buffalo, Rochester, Western NY and other regions) for events held in NY state schools . Up to 2 events/day, 3-4 events/week. Non-speaking role. HEIGHT AND SHOE REQUIREMENTS: 5’5”- 5’9”; shoe size 9.5-10 (US men) / 11-12 (US women). Must be comfortable performing in a full-body mascot costume. Some events will be outdoors and talent must be able to work in varying weather conditions. Background checks may be required.

RATE:
  • $300/3 hours per event, up to 2 events/day (depending on the proximity of locations) with 3-4 events in one week/city + 10% agency fee
  • Travel reimbursement within 2 hours drive proximity- gas + tolls or public transport + rideshare to/from station to location
EVENT DETAILS
  • 3 hours per event (arrive 2 hours before start time out of costume + 1 hour for the presentation in costume); total hours to not exceed 8 hours for 2 events/day
  • the mascot will follow a government official, shake hands and interact with a diverse audience


SELF-TAPE INSTRUCTIONS:

1. SLATE:

  • framing is close up, top of head to chest (film horizontally on your smart phone)
  • state your name, city and state where you reside and where you are currently, if different
  • state your height and shoe size (mandatory)
  • do you have any mascot, mime, physical theater, improv, dance and/or TYA experience?

2. AUDITION:

  • framing is full body, top of head to feet (film vertically on your smart phone)
  • Frankie Focus embodies the energy of a 14-16 year old boy. He’s fun, silly, a little chaotic but his heart’s always in the right place. He hates seeing someone on their phone.
  • Tell this story in 30-60 seconds without any spoken words. Find the physical, comedic moments. Keep it simple, short and clear:

You spot your best friend across the street. They don’t see you because they are on their phone and about to cross the street. Get their attention. Finally, they see you- just in time. You are both reunited and all is well.
